FAST is a clearance process for low-risk shipments. The driver must have a valid FAST card. Customs Rules and Regulations: Canadian and U. Customs processes must be followed exactly by every ARG driver in order to minimize service gaps or disruptions. These requirements may change from time to time depending on updates to legislation. ARG drivers never stop learning. Maintaining licenses and safety credentials means undergoing rigorous training related to everything from navigating difficult driving conditions to handling cargo that may include hazardous materials.
Drivers regularly complete new training and testing to stay sharp since they work in compliance with multiple laws and regulations on a daily basis.
Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under State and Federal Laws and Regulations. Provides accurate accident, safety and various other related reporting as required.
Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods by completing and post safety inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor May assist in warehouse on an Ad Hoc basis by safely operating warehouse equipment e. Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices.
Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored is maintained. Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, informing and coordinating with others as expected. Employee is accountable for ensuring the technical accuracy of their work and maintaining good working relations, both internal and external to CRC.
Self-direction and motivation are also expected. Must meet performance expectations. Must complete all duties as assigned. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; during daylight hours and times of darkness. The employee is frequently required to perform duties during inclement and occasionally severe weather. The employee has potential exposure to fumes, dusts, mists, vapor, acids and caustics.
There is potential exposure to hot surfaces and live steam. The employee will be working around pressurized vessels and piping which contains heated combustible and flammable materials. There is a risk of electrical shock.
