Eeprom utility for liteon download

What have you got to lose. New Features in v3. New Features in v4. New Features in v5. New Features in v6. New Convert Drive function This exciting new crossflash feature reads the firmware to find out which model the drive is and changes the EEPROM to match the model it finds.

The drive must first be flashed to the new firmware, which must be compatible with the drives hardware chipset , and then this function used. The drive will become fully functional after a system power off, or if external, the external enclosure switched off. New Clear Media Learn function This new version of the reset learnt media function, uses safe drive commands to clear both the learnt media and the hypertuning.

The new clear media learn function may not work with some legacy drives reports that it has failed and makes no changes , so if you still use an old drive, make sure you keep a copy of your previous version of the EEPROM Utitity, just in case. Once you have changed your drives model you will be able to use official firmware in your drive without any crossflash patching. Supported upgrade drive sets:. Note: Please understand that some functions are experimental, at this stage.

Make sure you backup your eeprom first. More information Please read the documentation enclosed in the package for more details. Without them, this utility would not have been possible. Version: v6. It has a few extra features that I think will benefit those that still like to tinker with their drives. Remember, your drive will be either a or now, so you should use the Burner Max firmware for the or drives whichever is appropriate to your drive.

Last edited: Nov 5, Hey funksoulb, a few questions if you got answers. Or does it write the label "behind" the data? Will it interfere with the layerbreak? I want to get one of these, but don't want the feature to be useless for games.

Yep, it uses up disc space so it's useless for games. To use it you have to first burn data to the disc, but without finalising it, then you can use SmartPack or Nero 9 Essentials or whatever to "tag" the disc and finalise it. It's only any good for music CDs or labelling data discs. Noobs will probably struggle with them. You gotta copy the link, paste it, delete the first part of it, delete the percentage sign, and delete the "22".

One more thing, you have a list of re-badged brands of the iHAS drives? Make sure you save at least two copies and keep one on removable media. Also always make a backup before you update your firmware and clearly name it with the current version number. The 5S and 6S backup file also contains the HyperTuning data which will also be restored if this file is use with the restore function.

This function should be used as a last resort to correct a drive that just refuses to burn well and the problem has been eliminated down to being the drive and not a system problem.

This function will clear all of the learnt media calibration data and flush the four burn logs. Remember it may take two to four burns before optimum results are achieved again, after resetting the calibration data.

If you already have good burns then this function is not for you. This is because the media code indices are completely different between the S and S, so the wrong learn data may be used. There is no reason to clear the learn data unless the drive has become confused due to strategy switching, a very bad burn, or in the case of 3S firmware, cross flashing.

It's not a magic improve burn patch to the eeprom, like CGxx is to firmware. So you should only us the reset learn if the drive is not producing the results you would expect or you have a new batch of media or you have been using a strategy with one type of media and you now want to use another type.

Think of it this way. It's like loading your day one backup of your eeprom if you had one back into the drive.
